Trust receives £48,900 HLF grant
One of the biggest single grants the Trust has received has been awarded, after much hard work by some of its officers behind the scenes. The money will mean that specific parts of the project, particularly the new museum in the old stable block, can now be progressed.
The work will involve minor structural work to the building, which once housed the delivery cart horses for the railway, and will also create a secure and dry environment in which to display some of the Trust's collection of railway memorabilia. Interpretive displays will be included in the visitor experience and careful consideration will be given to access particularly for disabled people.
It is hoped that the funds will also be used to improve general station area security and ultimately this should include a webcam of the railway which will be viewable on this website.
